The death toll from Hurricane Laura has risen to 10 after a family of four was found dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning from their generator.
A family of 5 has died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The family was reportedly using a generator following the storm
I-10 remains closed near Lake Charles. State Police say that troopers and first responders are still monitoring areas of concern. They ask that motorists remain patient and not travel at this time

NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred at General DeGaulle and Garden Oaks in the 4th Dist. The incident involved a NOPD officer and a bicyclist. EMS transported the bicyclist to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
KPLC's tower fell right into our studio exactly where we would have been at going live covering Hurricane Laura.

According to the governor's press conference rn, the chlorine fire at Bio Lab is ongoing - they're trying to put it out - "chlorine gas was released into the atmosphere" - LDEQ says the plume has chlorine in it and it's falling in the lake

The road is flooded in lower Cocodrie. Because of the storm surge, Terrebonne Parish officials expected this. They are thankful the levee system protected the rest of the parish from flooding
